Box of Sunshine at Children's Hospital at Montefiore

We had the honor of delivering our first Box of Sunshine to the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Ashley Hope received a kidney transplant on 11/30/2006 at CHAM. Prior to her transplant, Ashley required multiple dialysis treatments, fortunately, we were lucky enough to do these treatments at home as Ashley's mom was trained and able to perform home hemodialysis. Dialysis treatments usually entail coming to the hospital three days a week, each treatment can last a few hours and that’s without complications. Sunshine of Hope created a “Box Of Sunshine” filled with activities, arts & crafts, and toys for the children receiving dialysis treatments and children who need to come into the nephrology clinic with the intention to keep them occupied and make their treatments more enjoyable. We were able to see Dr. DelRio, she was Ashley’s miracle doctor! We will never forget Dr. DelRio and the entire staff at CHAM for the love, respect, and care they gave to our angel☀️💛
